While exploring my journey in photography, I ventured to use my photography skills and authored a book, The Art of Healing - A Glimpse of Cardiac Surgery under my pen name, with the guidance of Cardiac Surgeon, Dr. Avinash Garg. In this book, I create a visual narrative using my own images, to explain in simple language, the most common cardiac surgical procedure, coronary artery bypass grafting. This was a very unique opportunity for me to provide the reader with an inside view behind the closed doors of a cardiac surgery operating room. I take the reader through all stages of coronary artery bypass grafting which includes anesthesia, the heart lung machine, the operation and recovery. With discrete and artful images, the book attempts to elucidate the artful skill of the surgeon in his quest to heal his patient, and so came the genesis of “The Art of Healing”.
